“After Fire” Series

A series of oil and gouache paintings, portraying the devastation and the eerie beauty of a great fire.

In recent years, environmental disasters have manifested persistently and it has impacted people in every corner of the world. Several months ago, I visited a regional park, and instead of the greenery, I was greeted with a charred and otherworldly landscape. The park had been ravaged a short while before and I was deeply moved and made this series of oil and gouache paintings, portraying the devastation and the eerie beauty of that infernal.
